A Visit Home

My parents just bought a new house; it's gonna be down in Plymouth, almost on the Cape. So on my latest trip home, I packed up my old room and came across a bunch of childhood "treasures": a frozen banana pillow from home economics; a ballerina music box; pottery that I made; and all sorts of funny pictures and trinkets.

The weather was perfect, so my brother and I went down to the Beach. Even though the new house is on an ocean bluff, I'm definitely going to miss having Duxbury's ocean just a few minutes away.

Then Annie and I drove over to the new house (which we weren't actually able to visit), and she showed me the new beach. It's so quiet and beautiful.

Mastered!

I'm a Master! yay! Last week was spent in a flurry of family, friends, caps and gowns. Annie visited for the whole week and we went hiking at Great Falls, dress shopping, and made all sorts of crazy tasty food from pesto to caramel-coated pumpkin flan. The whole family came to my program's pre-grad night at the German Embassy, which was a blast of food, drinks, and goodbyes!

It's Doener Time!

Nothing says "we-like-all-things-German" like driving more than an hour into VA for some authentic German doener kebab...

But it was time well spent with my classmates. So much so that we want to go back sometime soon! There was great German beer on tap and really tasty fries and Curryketchup! We didn't want to leave. Seriously.
