Fulbright Meets DC

For the first time since we toasted good-bye in München (June 2005), my ladies and I got together in one place for a weekend of post-Fulbright fun. Linds drove down from OH for the weekend. Here are some highlights: going out dancing, walking around the Georgetown waterfront, exploring the Reflecting Pool, jumping around the Mall, walking around the World War II Memorial, making buckwheat Kasespaetzle, and catching up. These ladies made my time in Germany a one-of-a-kind experience. Hopefully our next Reunion will not be too far off...maybe we'll have to trek to Atlanta and see Mr. Neil now that he's all married!

No More Grad Conference!

This weekend was our Program's Graduate Student Conference ("Europe on the World's Stage"). After almost a full year of planning, I am very happy to say it is over. We had two days of papers by students from outside of our program covering everything from European hip-hop culture to the environment and migration. Unlike last year, I felt the panelists were really open and interesting! I should see a few of them when I head over to Germany for Spring Break, but for right now I am just glad my planning as External Logistics Chairlady is over!
