A visit from Miss J and Oktoberfest of a DC variety!

The past couple of weeks have been lots of fun: Miss J came for a visit all the way from NJ and I threw a big ol' Oktoberfest (but unfortunately not on the same weekend)! When J was here, the weekend was full of adventures from M St to Adams Morgan, where we met lots of fun people including Colby @ Jinx Proof and several of J's friends from the area. We went shopping and found some of the more interesting and exciting clothes I've found in awhile! One of my favorite parts though was sitting at my dining room table and doing homeworkk together. It reminded me of the comfort and fun times of being in NJ for the past couple of years and that was simply lovely. This weekend I invited a whole bunch of the kids in my program plus a few nearby alumni over for a big big BIG Oktoberfest party! It was really a great endeavor. We had a feast of German food and there was plenty of German beer to go around for everyone, and while I worked hard Friday and Saturday to get everything ready, I have to say that it was worth it to see everyone around me have a great night. I also had a chance to catch up with some alumni afterward that I hadn't seen in awhile, and as always, I found myself happier for it! Good times!
