Goodbye BBQ
Yesterday, the Bavarian Fulbrighters trekked out to Munich for a last get-together. Those of us there early enough got some breakfast before heading over to the Monopteras in the English Garden. It was warm, sunny and wonderful: perfect weather for cartwheels, beer, and some kickball! We even glimpsed a woman doing a photo shoot for one of those "gas station calendars." woah nelly! After a stop back at Tengelmann's, we had all the supplies we needed for a big goodbye BBQ over at Katie's on the Panzerwiesen (Tankmeadows). It was a great BBQ with about 5 kilos of meat, lots of chips, and beer. It marked the end of our year as Fulbrighters. Katie made a wonderful toast, and we spent hours telling funny stories from the year. Like all good things, it went by too quickly. Already some of the Fulbrighters are heading home, ready to start the next thing. Yet somehow, I don't think this is an end. After all, there are already plans to meet in November!
